Since most individuals are unaware that they suffer from OSA, it's important to be aware of some of the symptoms as well as the consequences of untreated OSA. People suffering from undiagnosed OSA will have a poor quality of sleep and find themselves fatigued, or suffering from somnolence (sleepiness) during the waking hours.

Obstructive sleep apnea has been shown to be associated with the development of atrial fibrillation and may result in abnormally high blood pressure.
