Two engineers were found to have undiagnosed sleep apnea, causing two commuter railroad accidents 13 weeks apart. Although New Jersey law requires operators to have frequent exams to ensure they are physically fit for the job, these men had no recent documentation and may not have been undergoing treatment for sleep apnea.
