If you have sleep apnea and you think a kick the machine to the curb, go see Dr. Dave, he’ll help you just made my life so much better in just a few short weeks I’m leaving to go to Alaska and I have to take with me is a little purple box as big as a baseball that’s it!"

"I am a Dental Assistant at Federici Dental for the past 13 years.  We recently have been learning and researching all about Obstructive Sleep Apnea and the detriments it can cause the body.  One thing we learned is that sleep apnea can affect any age, gender, weight, or ethnicity.  With all the knowledge we have acquired, I started to look closer at my own family.  I have a 22 year old son who had always snored, slept in late, and could fall asleep anywhere, even while sitting up.  He has been like this since 16 years old and I just considered his ways due to the fact he was a “teenage boy.”  Now that he is in his twenties, I decided to get him tested by a respiratory pulmonologist and sure enough he had moderate sleep apnea.  He took all the tests and began to use the Panthera D-SAD appliance.  I have to admit that I was a bit skeptical knowing how long my son had sleep apnea. The first time trying the appliance, he was in the office; we turned the lights off, reclined the chair, and within minutes he fell asleep but without any snoring. I was amazed! I cannot stress enough how important it is to have yourself, your family, and even your children tested. Since my son has been using the appliance, he is a totally different young man. He now has much more energy and even gets up earlier to go to the gym and continues to sleep without snoring. If you or someone you know has similar symptoms, please do not hesitate to call and ask."

"My intolerance to the CPAP machine caused me to feel awful to the point that I was getting less sleep.  After many appointments with the specialist, I decided to do my own research.  This is when I discovered Dr. Federici was helping patients with sleep apnea, with the use of an oral device.  From my first visit, I knew that I was at the right place.  Immediately, Dr. Federici talked about his passion about sleep apnea.  He explained everything thoroughly and often talked about his education on sleep apnea.  Dr. Federici’s compassion and patience is much appreciated.  My oral device was custom made for me!  It’s small and comfortable, plus I can easily take it with me when I travel.  Dr. Federici is very cautious with making adjustments to my device so I will not have jaw pain.  His staff was friendly and handled the billing to my insurance company with ease.  Finally, I’m getting a good night sleep!  Thank you Dr. Dave!"

Since I received my SomnoMed sleep apnea appliance my life has bee turned around. My energy level is back to par, and the brain fog is gone. My cholesterol levels are better and my blood sugar levels, which were borderline, are normal.
Dr. Federici has been a life saver. He was the only one in my area I could find that was experienced in dealing with sleep apnea and mouth appliances. He is knowledgeable and very competent.  All I can say is thank goodness I found him.

On January 8th, 2018 I suffered from TIA (mini-stroke). I was hospitalized overnight and released. The doctors were baffled as to how this occurred to me since I am otherwise a healthy person who is not overweight, exercises regularly has consistently normal vital signs. I was told that once a person suffers from a TIA, they are most likely to have another episode in the future.

So, I took my lose dose aspirin daily and hoped for the best.
In April, 2018 I went to Federici Dental for my regular 6-month cleaning, and they noticed I had some red flags for sleep apnea, according to a sleep apnea study they were conducting. Most notably, I had an enlarged tongue, which made it hard to see down my throat. It was recommended that I sleep a disorder doctor and have a sleep study done. I was Dr. Lipper and the sleep study showed that I have severe sleep apnea! I now sleep with a cpap machine, and my sleep apnea problem is over! Both Dr. Lipper and my regular Doctor have said that the mini-stroke was most likely caused by the sleep apnea.

Meanwhile, my husband also had the sleep study done, and it turned out he also had sleep apnea, not as severe as mine, and he now wears dental device provided by Federici Dental, and also has a better quality of sleep.

I can’t thank Federici Dental enough, as I feel they most probably saved my life! I would probably had a heart attack or stroke if my sleep apnea went undetected!

Sincerely,

Nancy Bent
